Why the Poké Pack Bundle Is Priced the Way It Is

When I launched the Poké Pack Bundle – Graded Chase Edition, I wanted to build something that didn’t feel like the dozens of mystery products floating around online—I despise that title, by the way.

You’ve seen those bundles—filled with junk slabs, low-grade promos, and bulk packs from sets nobody cares about. They’re cheap for a reason: the seller isn’t thinking about long-term trust, just short-term flips.

That’s not what Mankey Business is about.

So why is this bundle priced the way it is?

Let’s break it down honestly.

Every Poké Pack Bundle includes:

  • 4 Japanese booster packs (at least 1 from a hyped or recent set)

  • 1 full art card (English or Japanese)

  • 1 graded card (PSA, TAG, CGC, BGS, or CSG — always a 9 or 10)

  • A chance at a true chase slab, revealed before each drop

The core product costs me real money.

Let’s talk numbers:

  • Most of the non-chase slabs cost me $20–$30—I either source them or submit them for grading myself.

  • Booster packs, depending on the set, cost me ~$2–$9 each

  • The full art card? $2–$8

  • Add in packaging, materials, affiliate commissions, and payment processing fees—none of this is free.

Could I cut costs by grading bulk junk or tossing in low-value filler?
Sure. But then it’s not a product I’d be proud of.

And if I won’t put it in my own collection, I’m not putting it in yours.

“But the price scared me off…”

That was the most common feedback I got. And I hear you.

But here's the reality:

  • Realistically, I make zero profit on booster boxes (on purpose—Mankey Business tries to keep them ultra affordable)

  • This bundle is one of the only products that allows me to actually turn a profit

  • That profit? It helps fund the rest of the business—buying more inventory, growing the brand, and keeping the rest of our products competitive

This isn’t about gouging. It’s about surviving and scaling, while keeping quality high and trust even higher.

because I’ve promised that Mankey Business will operate with radical transparency, here’s exactly what we made on this drop:

We earned about $9 of profit per bundle. One of the 15 was given away in a launch giveaway, which felt like the right move to build awareness and momentum—so we sold 14 bundles total.

14 × $9 = $126.
That’s the total profit we made on the entire drop.

If I had to estimate the hours I put into sourcing, building, packaging, promoting, and fulfilling everything?
It comes out to less than $10 an hour.

Not glamorous. But real.

And for a business built on trust, sustainability, and a collector-first mindset—that’s a trade I’m proud to make.

“The chase didn’t excite me…”

Totally fair.

And that’s why I always reveal the chase card before each drop—so you can make that decision for yourself. If it’s not a slab you’d be excited to pull, you shouldn’t buy in.

But I promise you this:
Every chase slab is carefully chosen, and future drops will only get better.

Got a dream chase you’d love to see? Shoot me a message or tag us on X. I’m always listening to the community.

“I don’t trust you yet…”

That’s fair too—trust is earned.

Here’s how I’m working on it:

  • Every slab in every bag is either personally submitted for grading or hand-curated

  • We include a minimum grade of 9—no 7s or pity 8s

  • We use randomized shipping once the drop sells out, so no one can “snipe” the chase

  • Each bag contains a QR code linking to past chase reveals, so you know the heat is real

Final Thoughts

This isn’t a get-rich-quick product.

It’s a carefully built experience—for collectors, by a lifelong collector.
A product that can actually deliver value, without sacrificing integrity.

And while it won’t be for everyone, it’s something I’m proud to put my name on.

Thanks for reading—and more importantly, thanks for riding along.
